Laird, J. R. (n.d.). Limitations of Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty and
Stenting for the Treatment of Diesease of the Superficial Femoral and
Popliteal Arteries.
Reflecting on the failing long-term patency rates of percutaneous
angioplasty and stenting, this study aimed to asses long term data
surrounding new nitinol stents which show promise so far on a short term
basis. Balancing their success with high fracture rates, this study also
asses the best conditions under which new nitinol stents may be
prescribed for implantation, highlighting those patients who depict good
distal runoff.
