Leigh Perkins, L. E. (n.d.). Preclinical Models of restinosis and their
application in the evaluation of DRus-Eluting Stent systems.
This study aimed to develop new animal models exhibiting a greater
degree of accuracy in testing treatments regarding bare and drug eluting
stents used in Coronary arterial disease. Identifying the problems of new
DES systems, this study highlighted the need for need animal models that
correlate with new treatments and represent novel modes of drug delivery.
Overall, this study evaluates several preclinical animal models and the
application and evaluation of device-based interventional therapeutics.
