Patient 1: "Trigger finger-an irritation of the sheath that surrounds the flexor tendons, sometimes causing the tendon to catch and release like a trigger". This patient experienced popping and abnormalities in his index finger as a result of trigger finger. As a common patient, the man went about strengthening exercises after ultra-sound and heat. His exercises included pinching safety pins, using putty, and rice.
Patient 2: The walk-in came for a splint that would ease the pain of arthritis in the bottom joint of his thumb. Nicole built a splint that immobilizes the joint and told the patient to try to not use the joint as much as possible to prevent discomfort.
