My name is Rebecca Rouse and this is my first year in the GT mentorship/Internship program as a senior at Glenelg High School. I chose to do Physical Therapy as my topic under Clinical Medicine as I have been a life-long physical therapy patient due to being born with Hypotonia. I had four tendon-transfer surgeries beginning in eighth grade followed by intensive physical therapy at Physiotherapy Associates in Clarksville, Maryland. I now attend Physiotherapy Associates at the other end of the table as a mentor/intern under Ron Spicer, coordinator and PT, and Nicole Bickhart, OT and CHT. I have decided to become a Certified Hand Therapist after getting a degree in Occupational Therapy and have spent most of my hours for the mentorship program in the hand clinic at Physiotherapy Associates.
