This website talks about the Federal Arts Agency and how it funds music. While not directly related to my project, it does talk about how the government helped the spread of music in the country. I will mainly focus on how the phonograph helped the spread of music and how it helped music in America evolve and change. Without this funding, it's arguable that the music industry could have died, or would have been signifigantly weaker then it is now. this would not facilitate the spread of genres and the innovation and revolutions spurred on by this technology.
