Sean and Travis -
I hosted a similar seminar last year for my project. They are a lot of fun, but hard to advertise. I know you guys know your stuff, so you should really look into a marketing scheme. I know you guys will do a great job with this, and I'll spread the word about this if you guys need me too.
Good luck!

Sean and Travis:
I loved reading this project proposal; it was very well written and through it I was able to see that you really knew what you'll be doing for the rest of the year. I loved that you are aiming for the younger generation; many others in Howard County want to know more about law, I'm sure, and want to talk to fellow students with more experience, because they'll be able to relate to them better and will be more comfortable to ask simple questions. I also love the idea of "speed mentoring." Allowing access to experienced people in the field will help others with learning more about the field or what life is like as a lawyer, etc. Overall, great job!

Wow, I'm surprised at how thorough your plan is! Yours makes mine seem so simple and short, haha. I love how you are so organized and specific about what your final project is going to be and what kind of preparation is needed in order to achieve it. I think it's going to be a great educational seminar for people in the law field. I also think it's a good idea to think about how you are going to afford inviting all the professionals :) Are they volunteering? Also, think about the ways to advertise this great opportunity. I think it's a good idea to make announcements at different schools and invite people to come. Overall, great project proposal. Good luck!

I think that hosting a county wide seminar is a great idea as it will help many people to understand things they might not and have access to sources that they might not usually have - real lawyers and judges. I think that as long as you make sure that you have some sort of agenda for the seminar and a plan for who's speaking and such, it will go over flawlessly. I hope that you find the space you need to complete your project successfully. Best of luck!

I think this seminar is a great idea because I think there are many people that would be very interested in the content.
It is great that you will be representing all facets of law, as this will showcase the numerous law career possibilities.
The powerpoint method is great because it gets the point across, but the display boards are even better because information on them is permanent and people will be able to read them at their own will, thereby learning and absorbing more.
I hope you will be able to get access to a school's cafeteria or auditorium to present this seminar because it has very high potential.

Having a Countywide Law Seminar is a really great way to culminate what you have learned and to enlighten other prospective law students. Having the mentor students present as well as having guest speakers is a beneficial because the audience will get to see law from two different perspectives. One thing i would recommend is to encourage students who are really undecided about what they want to purse to come out because this would be a great chance to get an in depth look at the field. Overall I think this should be a great success!

To Sean and Travis,
Your project seems very well thought out. I think such a seminar would be very beneficial to younger students who may be searching for a career path in law. I might advise that once you have planned a date for the seminar, that you should advertise the seminar to Mock Trial clubs and similar clubs in high schools across the county.
I would just advise that you ensure that other law interns are receptive to this seminar, as it would require them to dedicate time to creating the display board and presentations.

Hi Sean!
This sounds like a great idea--I'm excited to see how this works out and I'm considering attending. I see law as a potential career, so this seminar would be very informative as far as specific types of law. I encourage you two to speak about the specific fields in which your mentors work; I'd recommend some interactive exercises at the beginning of the seminar so it remains lively throughout. Overall, I'm very impressed by this project idea and I can't wait to learn more over the coming months. Great work!
