The test group will be compared to a control group.  The chosen control group is also referred to as the gold standard.  It is what I have chosen as the testable criteria of a classic versus non-classic.  Some of the criteria include the following of the subjects.

1.Original form released before 1980 - the duration of one literary generation; also the point of initiation for the post-post modernist literary era 2.Reproduced in some way, one of which must have been a movie

3.The work must be readily available in book stores.

4.The work must be appropriate for young adult audiences.

These data support the conclusion that The Story Template is an accurate tool to predict classic and non-classic stories.

The Story Template algorithm was able to correctly detect both classic and non-classic stories as determined by objective/historical criteria. In this small sample of ten movies, The Story Template was able to correctly categorize nine stories, giving a final accuracy score of 90%.

The Story Template is an algorithm that was developed to assist a writer in creating a complete, compelling story. In this series of experiments, 16 separate components of The Story Template were identified. Interestingly, 15 of these 16 components was always present in both classic and non-classic stories. The presence or absence of only one component determined the template’s classification of a classic or non-classic story.
