My name is Briannah Purvis and I am a senior at Hammond High School, located in Columbia, Maryland. This year, I am in a Gifted and Talented Program known as IR, or Independent Research. The program allows students to have a topic or issue of their choice in which they research throughout the entire school year. In the end, all of the facts, information, experiences, and knowledge gained are collectively put into a paper which will then be shared as a presentation to valid audiences.

In my writing to you today, I reverentially ask for any information you might have concerning pollution in the ocean and how it affects the shores and coastal areas, as well as marine life. For my final project, I intend on somehow improving the way in which people practice good recycling and disposing habits when at our beaches, as well as using eco-friendly products. I would deeply value if you could send me any or all of the following information:

*         Any pamphlets or brochures from your organization

*         Any maps or charts you may have collected of the most polluted areas

*         Eco-friendly products from your organization that I can use as a sample in presenting my research

*         Any other information you think would be accommodating to my research.
