My name is Veronica Son and I am a senior at Reservoir High School. I am interning at the Physician's Eye Care in Columbia, MD under the instruction of Dr. Jeffrey Wexler, an ophthalmologist. Every Tuesday and Wednesday, I actively participate in my internship. Here, I am able to scribe by noting medical conditions and recording various measurements, symptoms, diagnostics, and treatment plans. I have also learned to use an instrument known as the slit lamp. It is essentially a microscope flipped on its side. With this, one is able to looking into and beyond the surface of the eye and more clearly see the inner layers and eye structures.
