It goes into deeper detail about the 3 types such as the Baking and Pastry Certificate, Associates Degree in Applied Science Culinary Arts, and the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Culinary Arts.The article just gives background about the educational skills.

After evaluating the check list, there is another list that tells what one must do in order to follow their dreams. And not only does it have lists about compatibility, and requirements, but also what a student will be learning in Culinary School.

 

Dwyer, Jennifer. Personal interview. 20 Oct. 2010. Speaking to Jennifer she explained many things to me. She first she spoke about her business as being the co-owner of Avantgarde Partners. Her husband is also the head of the banquet department for the Hyatt. After speaking about her switch of jobs from the Hyatt to her own business, she spoke about they really do. She works with an event planning company that not only helps plan the event, but comes in and fills in the blanks for anything missing. She also talked about the employees, and her plans for the business as it grows.

The article gives step by step tips that one can use when handling the planning of an event. It is basically a checklist. It claims to start with good understanding of the event and what you hope to achieve from the event. After gaining the understanding, goals must be set of what one wants to accomplish. After setting the goals, one must set the budget of what they intend to spend, then set the location and date. After date, a time line needs to be set up of what needs to be done, look at vendors, check for any contracts needed, and check for any advertising opportunities.

The article gives tips that one may find helpful when picking a venue for your event. The tips include things like researching a place. Depending on what type of event one is looking to plan, the venue should have the theme. Along with researching possible places until one that is a perfect fit is found, one must also think about a budget. Even though the location is very important, it is also important to make sure there is still enough funds for the rest of the planning of the event.

 

Szybist, Patricia. Personal interview. 20 Oct. 2010. Patricia is the event planner for John Hopkins Chemical Propulsion Center, and talking to Patricia i obtained knowledge about planning an event its self. She took me through the tasks that she must complete when trying to organize everything. We went through her binder for a meeting she is planning and talked about the many sections that were included. She spoke about the sections about catering, which includes the menu and meals that will be serviced. She also went over the section about booking hotels to have the meeting and the contracts that are involved with everything.

It not only covers what they do as a wedding planner, but what the pay is like for them. It states that there is no actual educational skills needed, but knowledge in finance would be good. After talking about the educational advantages, it goes into other careers that may be associated with the job as a wedding planner.

At first it goes into what happens after the first two years out as a planner. After stating that it goes into what happens after 5 years. And finally it talks about what happens after 10 years out as a planner. And it tells that after 10 years you start dealing with bigger budgets because one has more experience.
